Blue espresso

I first spotted this brand in a second-hand shop about five years ago. It brought back memories of a time in the 1970's when we use to visit my sister in law and she had this fabulous porcelain in the green and gold. We would be served our 'after dinner' coffee in it and I just thought it exquisite and wanted a set. But that was not meant to be.  On the day I found a second hand set I snapped it up and have never looked back.

The Apilco brand is one of my best sellers and goes to customers all around the globe including back to its manufacturing country France !  I think it is one of those timeless designs, simple yet sophisticated. Created in 1936 The Flora design is still as popular as ever. The green is striking, the brown is luscious and the white a classic. There are other colours and I am lucky to have found in blue, yellow, black and cream but they are rare finds. Known for high quality porcelain - Apilco has been manufacturing for centuries and uses the best quality materials. Each piece is beautifully finished with attention to detail. It is durable and can take higher temperatures. If treated with care it can last for years. Certainly not suitable for a dishwasher as that causes the gilding to wear. Great to find something that still fits so well in the 21st century.
